New Contributor, Artem Barinov

I am a photographer from Russia, currently based in Los Angeles. Influenced by the rugged Californian terrain, the subconscious mind, and the quiet misery of suburbia, Artem's work ranges from authentic street photographs to conceptual portraits, unified by one common thread - his passion for studying the intricate complexity of the human experience.

New Contributor, Diane Crokerll

As a third generation Angeleno, my love affair with Los Angeles began on day one and continues to this day. As a full time photographer I am never at a loss for subject matter, from the macro of the downtown skyline to the micro of street curbs I search for the usual and offer it up with unusual perspective and sensibility.

Contributor Update, Michael Hirabayashi

An Update from one of our earlier contributors, Michael Hirabayashi.
For those of you who missed his first post in 2013 here is his Bio.

I’m a military “brat”.  I spent most of my childhood in Japan where my father gave me his old Nikkormat and I discovered photography. I was transplanted to Northern Virginia for the latter half of high school.  College in DC.  Worked in the news gathering field after college.  Transitioned to working film production here in LA.

I always have a still camera with me.  I can’t draw, so I shoot pictures.  The camera is like my sketchpad.  I find my pics are random and arbitrary.  Sometimes they’re interesting.
